Artworks by Martin Long

The artworks exhibited in this on-line gallery consist mainly of watercolors and drawings on paper produced over a roughly forty year span. A few are oil on canvas. These images reflect a wide range of interests related to human behavior and misbehavior. Many of these images are personal, either directly or driven by an urge to make a connection with experiences outside of my own. For me painting on paper is way to sort out the things that percolate through the imagination; a distillation process that suggests direction for future research. If one of these works resonates with someone at a personal level then I think the work is successful.
